Family-owned Maverik Stores was in need of a new identity to break free from the dated appearance of its existing "western" theme of 30 years.
Adrienne Weis was tapped to develop a new retail design: "Adventure's First Stop" became the prototype concept. Maverik agreed to implement it in one location, but the rollout cost proved prohibitive and the design was deemed not scaleable.
Total Image was invited to evaluate the prototype and discuss possible solutions with Maverik. We also worked with Maverik on developing and implementing unique destinations within the consumer shopping experience.
The final program called for digitally printed wall-coverings enhanced with dimensional die-cut graphics and sculpted elements. This art-based program was key in that it was affordable, scaleable, easier to implement and cost effective to maintain.
Five initial test sites and 130 locations have been rolled-out to date. The stores clearly create an emotional hook with the customer and they seem to enjoy the shopping experience.
"Total Image is an incredibly detail-oriented organization whose associates deliver what they promise to deliver. Over our 4-year relationship we have developed a true partnership that started with Total Image value engineering a very expensive design concept at a relatively nominal cost all the while retaining the concept's integrity. The added value they bring to our stores by way of impactful, high quality design, branding and theming elements is absolutely measurable to the bottom line. I highly recommend Total Image."
